We are very fortunate that Pumpkin loves to read. She has loved books since her first book that she gnawed on – Teddy Bear adventures. We have a special reading corner and that’s where she can stay for at least twenty minutes at a time.
When Pumpkin wakes up she instantly says, “down!”. That’s so she can go down from the crib and straight to her books. Once I get her down, she commands me to sit where she’ll bring me books to read. We’ll read through fifteen books until she wants to go in the other room for more books. Every room has at least 20 books in it.
I was an avid reader when I was growing up. Would go to the library and check out tons of books at once and read through them all quickly. I remember getting gold stars or reading rewards for the books I read. It makes me incredibly happy to see that we have a budding reader.
Mostly for historical purposes and to show to you my friends, I want to start a series called Reading with Toddler. As long as she wants to read while filmed I may do it. We have some really cool moments, and I hope to share them here.
